Boron, also known as Borium

Boron, previously known in the Netherlands as Borium, is a mineral with various useful functions in the body. These include roles related to metabolism and physiology – mechanisms related to the functioning of living organisms. Boron is also necessary for the proper functioning of the immune system. Furthermore, research has shown that adding boron to animal feed can have a positive effect on wound healing, bone density, and embryonic development; the substance may also influence the metabolism of various minerals and enzymes. When boron is added to the diet, it also has a positive effect on liver metabolism.
A second study has also identified a wide range of benefits of boron. This research found that boron may positively affect bone growth, the immune system, the central nervous system, hormone function, and arthritis symptoms. This study also indicated that boron influences the metabolism of various enzymes and minerals.
Because boron has or can have a positive effect on so many processes in the body, it is suspected that boron can improve the production or function of certain substances involved in biochemical processes.
Boron not only has a positive influence on bone density but also positively affects its maintenance. Additionally, boron may have important antioxidant effects because it is involved in modulating oxidative stress.
